(Goal: Targeting North Koreans, offers good treatment for surrender, and anti-morale. )
What have you gained? Over one million Communist soldiers have become casualties of Kim Il Sung's and the Communist blunder! Today you are farther from your goal than on 25 June last year. What have you gained? You are the ones who pay. Thousands and thousands of your comrades have lost their lives. The smart ones have gained their freedom by surrendering. Gain your freedom now! Make this day and anniversary of life. UN Forces will welcome you with a warm hand. |
(Goal: Give North Koreans an opportunity to surrender and receive good treatment from the UN in return.)
Officers and Men of the 12th NK Division: You are suffering many hardships from starvation and UN powerful air and artillery bombardment. Why do you not seek your safety at once by escaping out of the horror of death? Many of your comrades have already come over to UN lines. They are all safe, and are enjoying their good treatment. Now is the time for you to seek your safety! Follow the route indicated on the map on the reverse side. We are waiting for you with warm cooked rice and good treatment. |
(Goal: Create feelings of homesickness and to increase anger against communists.)
Front: "My son, my son- come back!" "Why am I fighting here?" Back: "My son, my son- come back!" How much longer are you going to be away from home? My eyes fill with tears when I think of what is happening to our beloved Korea. The Communists forced your aged father and I to leave our little village along with all our friends. We now live in a strange town. We do not know anybody and we have lost all of our belongings. Oh, my son, you must save us- you and your brave friends must return and save us form these brutal Communists. I, your, mother, who has never said an unkind word against anyone, say this: The Communists must be destroyed, uprooted! Such evil Korea has never known. The Communists are worse than mad dogs. They are murderers: I shall die hating them for what they are doing to our homeland. Oh, my son, my son, come back! |
